We’re back to our regularly-scheduled programming after everyone in our family had to battle Mr. Flu! Not sure who won!
I missed Throwback Thursday but wanted to go back to Christmas and share this fun session I had with Victoria and Evan!
We wanted to go to a tree farm but our schedules were difficult to line up and with the weather being as unpredicatable as it is around here we really didn't want to plan a session that relied on a 45 + minute drive on a weekend when our weekends are limited in Nov/Dec. It's easily one of the busiest times of year for so many of us.
So we decided to try something different! We have a great little tree lot near by that my family has purchased a Christmas tree from for years and I knew I could make it look and feel like a tree farm ;) Next we had to deal with mother nature and the opening date of the lot. Avoiding the rain seemed to be the hardest part of it all! But we couldn't complain because the alternative was for the rain to come down as snow and we definitely didn't want to have to shovel it all ;)
We started by taking some shots at the front ‘gate’ that they set up each year and then as we walked in were greeted by one of the staff… he gave me a bit of an odd look and asked if he could help us, to which I replied, ‘no thanks, we are looking for a tree and taking some pictures so will just wander around’. This was true, because in fact I wanted to get our tree early this year and this would be a great way to multi task ;) But I’m not sure the guy that greeted us believed me…
We spent about 45 min walking around the lot and Evan was an awesome model! He took direction so well and even offered up some great suggestions for poses. He is such a great kid and so full of personality! I’ve known Evan and Victoria for many years and it’s always fun to spend time with them. I still look back on pictures of Evan playing with my daughter when they were 2 yrs old and can't get over how much they've grown!
Victoria wanted pictures of Evan that she would then print and frame as a gift to her parents for Christmas so the majority of the images were of Evan but we couldn’t miss the opportunity to take some of the two of them together!
I loved the fun hats that they were both wearing!! #ELFIE
Mental Note: Don’t wear boots with heals to a session shortly after a rainy day – you will sink into the ground on every step!! LOL
